Gender-neutral beauty procedures focusing on enhancing features like cheekbones, jawlines, skin texture, nose jobs, chest augmentation (including for men through pectoral implants or fat transfer), lip enhancement, brow lifts, and body contouring have become increasingly popular.
How are these evolving beauty standards influencing the types of procedures men and women in the Arab World are seeking today? As this transformation unfolds, how will plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures adapt to meet the demands of a more personalized and diverse beauty ideal? And how does this shift in our region align with or differ from global trends in the aesthetics landscape?
To answer these question and provide expert insights, I’d like to propose an exclusive interview with two renowned Dubai-based plastic surgeons; Dr Dmitry Melnikov and Dr Alexander Glushko.

Bios:
Dr Dmitry Melnikov, an acclaimed plastic and reconstructive breast surgeon according to Tatler magazine's list of top surgeons, and a licensed plastic surgeon in Dubai. His patients include some of the top 5 influencers in Russia. Dr Melnikov is the Vice Secretary for the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS) and an active member of the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery. He was the surgeon who performed the operation to remove the synthol oil and dead muscle tissue from the biceps of the bodybuilder dubbed Popeye, which was covered by Fox News, New York Post, The Sun Daily Mail, etc.
Dr Alexander Glushko, a highly skilled and licensed nose and facial surgeon based in Dubai. With an MD and PhD, he brings over a decade of experience in the field, specializing in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr Glushko has published over 100 scientific articles, holds multiple patents, and is a frequent speaker and educator in his field. His approach to surgery is centered around five core principles: Purpose, Balance, Safety, Approach, and Trust. Dr Glushko is also an active member of several international surgical societies, contributing to the advancement of plastic and maxillofacial surgery.
